Review : Nice coat.
This is the information I couldn't find before I purchased the coat. With a fully charged 20v. 1.5ah battery I ran the heater for about 5.5hrs on high (better then I figured it would be). Don't know about the low and medium settings (why would you ever need those). After wearing it for awhile I checked the temp of the inside of the coat at one of the heating elements, 102 degrees. Warm, but not heating pad warm. I haven't tried a larger battery, but I'm not sure a 3 or 4ah battery would fit in the pocket. The battery pocket is on your left hip at about 7:30. Pretty bulky, and you have to work around it getting in and out of a vehicle. Don't think it would bother anyone if working outdoors. Size is about right. I wear a large in most every coat I own.
The zipper is junk, but to be honest zippers in general have gone that way over the last few years. I wish someone made a high quality industrial zipper for work clothing. I really like the coat. I find myself not taking it off when...

I purchased six of these for my entire house. Probably one of the best investments I have installed, as far as safety and convenience go, so far.

The smoke detectors I had previously were VERY sensitive and would go off even when no one could see any smoke in the house (normally from cooking greasier foods -bacon-, and a time or two something has boiled over in the oven).

Much like in the Nest video, I was one of those individuals that could only wave a towel at the alarm so many times before I would end up taking off the ceiling and taking out the battery. Not safe, but it was the only way to get through dinner sometimes. I'm not the only one in the neighborhood with this issue either. I can hear one of the neighbor's alarms going off on nearly a daily basis, and I doubt there are that many bad cooks in the area, despite what others may claim. These contractor installed alarms are just too sensitive.

Review : Simmons 6 MP Pro Hunter No Glow Trail Cam
This is my first trail cam so I don't have a comparable. Good general purpose trail cam for less than $90. I purchased it to view active wildlife routes and to record some less desirable two-legged wildlife going where they're not supposed to be. This trail cam sold me with its "black" IR which critters (two- and four-legged) cannot see. Daylight pics were acceptable and video was clear. Night time pics were slightly blurry if the subject was moving at a normal pace about 15 feet from the camera. The night vision video was excellent for subjects greater than 5 feet feet from the camera, any closer and the video was mildly distorted by the IR light reflection off of light surfaces (but still in the acceptable range). My subject was a deer in total darkness (new moon) on a cloudy night in the middle of a forest. The only real problem with the video was a slightly slow sensor reaction time. The sound quality was not so good (a bit hissy), but I didn't buy this for sound...

Review : Decent coat, lousy electric blanket
I work in an office, one which is perpetually too cold in the winter. Today was my first trial run with the new electric coat, and I can sum it up as "meh".

The coat itself is fine, roomy, and comfortable. Overall it's constructed well, though the zipper has a hard time engaging at the bottom. The battery charges up quickly and fits in a specially-constructed pouch in the back. While it's out of the way if you're standing, the battery will dig into your back somewhat if you're seated.

The biggest issue with this coat is also the only reason I bought it: the heating elements. There's only a few in the lower torso area, and even on the highest setting they don't get all that warm. To make things worse, the battery only lasts about 3.5 hours with the heaters on full. If you're hoping for an Electric Snuggie, this isn't it. The electric heating is more of a gimmick than anything.

Review : Decent upgrade to the older "Dropcam HD"
This is my fifth DropCam, so obviously I love them. SUPER easy to setup (less than a minute) and you have a live webcam.

This new one ("DropCam Pro") seems to have slightly better video quality than the previous ones. When compared side by side green looks a little "greener" and the picture is a bit sharper.

It also increased the field of view, which can be good or bad depending on your particular use.

WARNING: they are *ONLY* for "indoor use", but I make my own enclosures for outside in an ocean environment (looking at surfers and waves) and it holds up pretty well. I plan to seal up this with Silicone Sealant ($5 at any hardware store, Amazon sells it also) and try it outside. I'll update this review as I get some experience (like if it dies quickly).

This camera is phenomenal. I just downloaded the memory card after the camera was in the field for one week. I had 398 images of deer, turkey and coons. There were some "landscape" photos, but we had a major storm move through the area on May 30th.

I set the camera up for a 2 shot burst and it performed flawlessly. The daytime picture clarity is second to none. Some of the night time photos were a bit grainy, but not bad. Be sure to use a Sandisk, class 10, 32MB data card with these cameras. They are a bit pricey, but you can typically find them on Amazon for half of what they cost at Best Buy or other big box stores. You will also want to use Energizer Ultimate lithium batteries.

Review : Excellent mutli functional cam!
The cam is slightly larger than I imagined but other than that this is a great device. I'm using it as a baby cam at the moment and compared to the price of other baby cam this tops them all by far. I purchased for $160 on Amazon. Most of the other baby cams at this price point do not have all of the features that this cam does. The baby industry is notorious for gouging customers! A baby cam with half the features would cost $200 or more. It's ridiculous.

Review : Not the common use ...
We use camera to monitor traffic on our Private Road. Use both the pics and video (5 Sec) to identify culprits. Hard to argue with a pic. Setup was easy. Took a few days to calibrate camera for best position. Sensor trigger is light. Found "Low" setting worked best. Some tape at side of sensor tightened the angle. I got the python cable to lock camera down. Works great securing camera to tree. Don't need the web. Need to buy a small padlock to secure door or anyone can pinch the drive.
