I coach a 13 year old boys club baseball team and we are always looking for ways to keep practices interesting. We now regularly use these as part of our pre-game warm up sequence. What I really like about the Markwort Total Control Baseball is:
a) They don't travel very far when hit - so you can use them in a confined space
b) The way they come off the bat gives the hitter IMMEDIATE feedback
It is the second reason these are a great training product. You can watch a player's swing and try to give him verbal feedback all day, but nothing compares to the player SEEING, and FEELING the quality of contact. Usually we start out front tossing the balls like the product page suggests and sure enough players are hitting the top or bottom of the ball - this results in the Markwort ball deforming into a spinning disk that goes about 3 feet. Instantly the batter takes notice and really starts to FOCUS on making solid contact. Instead of just another mindless...
Add power
This really helps the kids drive through the ball. Many kids swing to the ball and this forces them to swing through it. You can use it in a small area since they do not travel far.

What a great product!! it has helped our hitting so much before games! Being able to take full swings with power has increased our runs per game by over 5 runs per game! AWESOME
